Arbitrum zet $215M in voor Gaming Innovatie
De Arbitrum Foundation heeft een ambitieus plan goedgekeurd om de gamingindustrie binnen hun ecosysteem een flinke boost te geven. Op 7 juni stemde meer dan 75% van de leden voor dit voorstel, dat eerder in maart werd gepresenteerd.
Innovatie en Groei in de Gamingwereld
Arbitrum, het Ethereum rollup-based layer-2 netwerk, heeft 225 miljoen ARB tokens, ter waarde van ongeveer $215 miljoen, gereserveerd voor het Gaming Catalyst Program (GCP). Dit programma, dat over drie jaar loopt, wil de bekendheid en het gebruik van Arbitrum, Orbit en Stylus onder gameontwikkelaars en spelers vergroten. Het uiteindelijke doel? Groei en betrokkenheid binnen de gaminggemeenschap.
Bekende supporters zoals L2Beat, Wintermute en Treasure DAO steunden het voorstel. Ondanks tegenstand van Blockworks Research en Camelot DAO, kreeg het voorstel toch groen licht.
Treasure DAO reageerde enthousiast op sociale media: “Arbitrum is het thuis van gaming — laten we magie laten gebeuren.”
Financiering en Beheer
Een groot deel van de fondsen gaat naar uitgevers, waarbij nieuwe en beginnende ontwikkelaars subsidies kunnen krijgen tot 500.000 ARB (ongeveer $483.000). Meer gevestigde ontwikkelaars kunnen aanspraak maken op investeringen met een waardecomponent, zoals tokens of aandelen.
De overige fondsen worden gebruikt voor infrastructuurbeloningen en operationele kosten, om de groei en ontwikkeling van het ecosysteem te ondersteunen. Een speciaal team beheert de dagelijkse operaties van het GCP. Daarnaast zorgt een vijfkoppige raad van experts op het gebied van gaming, venture capital, data-analyse en DAO-bestuur voor strategisch toezicht.
Deze structuur garandeert dat de financiering effectief wordt gebruikt om de doelen van de DAO te bereiken, terwijl innovatie en verantwoordelijkheid worden aangemoedigd. De raad heeft vetorecht over investeringsbeslissingen en teamaanstellingen, wat zorgt voor een succesvolle implementatie van het programma.
Het GCP heeft strikte financiële regels ingesteld, met een limiet van $25 miljoen aan operationele kosten. Uitgaven boven deze limiet moeten worden goedgekeurd door de DAO.
In maart verwierp de Arbitrum DAO ook een voorstel om de juridische kosten van Tornado Cash-ontwikkelaars Roman Storm en Alexey Pertsev te financieren.
Met deze stap wil Arbitrum een sterke impuls geven aan de gamingindustrie binnen hun ecosysteem. Door ontwikkelaars de kans te bieden om deel uit te maken van een dynamische community, zet Arbitrum in op innovatie en groei in de gamingwereld.
