Solana zet in op mobiel: de nieuwe stap voor blockchain-adoptie
Solana maakt zich klaar voor een mobiele doorbraak. Onlangs kondigde Solana Mobile de tweede versie van hun telefoon, de Solana Seeker, aan. Dit toestel moet halverwege 2025 op de markt komen en trekt nu al veel aandacht met 145.000 pre-orders. Er gaan geruchten dat de telefoon gebruikers interessante token airdrops zal bieden, wat de populariteit alleen maar verder aanwakkert.
Maar het blijft niet alleen bij hardware. Steeds meer Solana-projecten verplaatsen zich richting mobiele apps. Zo heeft het DeFi-platform Jupiter onlangs zijn mobiele swap gelanceerd en staan de apps van DRiP, Birdeye en Cube Exchange ook op het punt om te verschijnen.
Mobiele adoptie: de volgende stap voor Solana?
Volgens Bartosz Lipinski, CEO van Cube, wordt het hebben van een mobiele app essentieel voor elk Solana-project.
“Om blockchain toegankelijk te maken, moet het aanwezig zijn op de plek waar mensen het meeste tijd doorbrengen: hun telefoons,” aldus Lipinski.
Dit idee speelt al langer in de cryptowereld, maar Solana lijkt nu daadwerkelijk de stap te maken.
De release van de eerste apps staat om de hoek: DRiP komt naar verwachting in december, Cube’s Telegram-versie al volgende week, gevolgd door hun iOS-app in november. Birdeye laat ook niet lang meer op zich wachten. Toch is het nog maar de vraag of deze apps de massa weten te bereiken. Sommige ontwikkelaars hopen dat Telegram, met zijn ingebouwde crypto-integratie, een rol zal spelen in het succes van hun apps.
Telegram of een eigen app?
Lipinski ziet in Telegram een manier om de gebruikelijke obstakels van app-stores te omzeilen. Telegram biedt bovendien al een platform dat goed integreert met crypto en een groot aantal gebruikers heeft die deze technologie omarmen. Toch zijn er beperkingen. Caitlyn Clark van Moonwalk, een Solana-gebaseerde fitnessapp, benadrukt dat voor meer complexe functionaliteiten en een eigen merkervaring een native app vaak de betere keuze is.
Solana gaat mobiel: wat kunnen we verwachten?
De mobiele ambities van Solana zijn niet langer toekomstmuziek. Dankzij de inspanningen van medeoprichter Anatoly Yakovenko maakt Solana serieuze stappen om crypto toegankelijker te maken voor mobiele gebruikers. Dit kan een belangrijke stap zijn naar bredere adoptie van blockchain-apps.
Solana’s mobiele tijdperk is begonnen. Nu is het afwachten welke apps echt doorbreken.
